Make (Name): Austin
Model: Mini Moke
Make Year: 1968
Color: Green
Description:

Iconic 60's runabout popular with tradesmen, hippies, celebrities and royalty. The Mini Moke was devised by the Mini's designer, Alec Issigonis as the Army's version of the Mini but this 'disposable' vehicle was quickly set to servilian duties. Used on farms, golf courses and as nippy, urban delivery vehicle this pocket-money Jeep was adopted by the alternative set and its diminutive size and quirky appearance made it popular with TV and film producers. It played a starring role in The Prisoner (1966), the Avengers and can be spotted in many a villain's lair in the 1960's and 1970's James Bond movies. Celebrities who owned the classic Mini Moke in the 1960s include Diana Rigg, Bridget Bardot, Jackie and Aristotle Onassis and Princess Margaret. This mini Moke is presented in original, 1960's condition with the original Spruce Green paintwork - no added 'boy racer' features. Fitted with original canopy which can be raised to keep the rain off but does not have the 'side screens' which were an optional extra for the less hardy. If you want to see this mark of Mini Moke at work and play, take a look at Catch Us If You Can (1965). People often ask me "What happens when it rains?", My answer "You get wet!"
